Only produced in great vintages, the highly regarded 95pt Blue Pyrenees Richardson Cabernet Sauvignon is dedicated to the late Colin Richardson, a larger than life character who lived, breathed and loved wine. He was the fine wine director at Blue Pyrenees and travelled around the country as a national wine judge and educator. A distinct nose of blackberry fruit, cassis, oyster shell and sweet oak leads to a palate of blackcurrant, blackberry and green olive. Matured in new and 2-year-old French oak barrels resulting in smoothness and complexity and as Campbell Mattinson calls it in the Halliday Wine Companion, it's "… compelling ... 95pts".
